I...I had a gardener that did that to my lemon tree. I didnt know it till I went to put something in my green waste can. (the bush was behind a deck, so I didnt see him do it) I found branches with lemons still attached to them!!!! I was horrified. I pulled all the lemons off those branches to save and told him next time I saw him to NEVER touch that unless I tell him to.
